In the Supporter Spotlight we recognize a Youth Service, Inc. donor making an impact in the communities we serve. In this spotlight, we are recognizing Kimberly Robinson.

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. I worked for 20 plus years in the field of social work in the area of intellectual disabilities and mental health. For the past ten years I have worked in the healthcare industry. I’m a proud graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls and Hampton University, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and loyal Philadelphia sports fan. I’m also a lover of  cooking shows, HGTV, and political wonk.

Q: Why did you choose YSI when you were looking for an organization to donate to? What attracted you to our programs?

YSI in an agency that addresses many of the challenges that I feel individuals and families facing today. YSI also works hard to give participants in their programs the tools and life skills to move on to become successful.

Q: What motivates you to stay involved? Why do you donate?

I  feel like my contributions and interactions make a difference and I have met some wonderful dedicated YSI staff over the years. I have been blessed to also have the support of my family, friends, and work peers on many of my YSI projects. YSI is the signature community service organization for the Philadelphia Chapter of Hampton University Alumni.

Q: Why do you think it is important to support YSI?

For me personally I feel it’s necessary to always pay it forward. Everyone can do something and there are many opportunities and avenues to support  YSI programs.
