National Safe Place is a youth outreach program that educates thousands of young people every year about the dangers of running away or trying to resolve difficult, dangerous situations on their own. Across the country, participating youth-friendly businesses, schools, and other organizations extend the doors of emergency youth shelters by serving as Safe Place sites. When teens in crisis arrive at these locations, they are met by caring staff and volunteers and connected to emergency resources and housing.
National Safe Place Week is a great opportunity to raise awareness of this important community resource among young people who might benefit from the service and adults who could potentially identify a teen in crisis or be affiliated with a future Safe Place site. For more information about the program, please contact Willie Little at 215-787-0633 or email@example.com.
You can support teens in crisis during National Safe Place Week by sharing the daily themed messages posted on our Facebook page and sent via our Twitter feed with your networks. This is a great way to get involved with an important cause from the comfort of your home in the time you have available. Look out for these daily themes throughout the week, and thanks for doing your part to make our community a safe place for youth in crisis.
